Kintampo Municipal Assembly holds first ordinary meeting
The Kintampo Municipal Assembly has held its first Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Seventh Assembly at the Municipal Conference hall.

The meeting brought together all the 45 elected Assembly Members and 19 Government Appointees to deliberate on issues relating to the development of the Municipality.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw commended members of the Assembly for availing themselves for the meeting which he said would go a long way to enhance development in the area.
He updated members on some developmental projects, and also on matters of the assembly’s Internally Generated Fund (IGF), District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) and District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT).
The MCE also touched on matters of security, education, health, sanitation, sports among others.
He also seized the opportunity to comment on his visit to some 91 communities in the Municipality to engage the chiefs and people of these communities.
He revealed that the Assembly was working tirelessly to promote the Agriculture sector, expand electricity and tourism, and ensure full participation in the ongoing Green Ghana project.
He concluded by outlining his vision for the Municipality including the reconstruction of some major roads, ensuring capacity building training for Assembly Members, reintroducing the teachers awards, and putting up a Kindergarten at Tono Akura community.
On his part, Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr. Paul Adu Frimpong appealed to members to enact bye-laws that will ensure that the use of motor-cycles for commercial transport which is popularly known as “Okada” is strictly regulated.
“Okada” riders should be regulated. Some are underage and ride carelessly on our roads without adhering to road signs and regulations”, he added.
