Kintampo Municipal organizes General Assembly Meeting

The Kintampo Municipal Assembly has held its fourth session of the Seventh Assembly Meeting at the Assembly hall to discuss matters of importance to the development of the Municipality.

The Presiding Member in his welcome address informed the house how they should contribute effectively to the deliberation brought before the house by building decorum and having consensus therefore soliciting maximum cooperation and collaboration on the floor of the house.

The presiding member entreated every member of the house to observe rules and regulations of their debates during deliberation to contribute to the discussions on the floor of the house.



Mr. Dawuda Mohammed added that, the duties of “Assembly members are to exercise deliberative, legislative and executive functions, in the discharge of their duties, in the light of these functions, for us to be able to deliver effectively as Assembly members, we apply the concept of the 3Cs that is Communication, Consultation, and collaboration in our work.”

He also remarkably commended and appreciated the efforts of the Municipal Assembly technocrats, all workers for their hard work in the development of the Kintampo Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Isaac Baffoe Ameyaw in his sectional address stated how delighted he was to give the overview of the current state of affairs of the Municipality and extended his heartfelt gratitude to all who made any contribution and support in the pursuit of the municipality development.



Areas touched by the MCE were on the finances of the Municipality, where District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and Revenue was looked at and discussed. Security, Sanitation, Environmental challenges, Health sector, Education sector, was not left out in their deliberations.

In Agriculture, Mr. Baffoe stated that the president of the Republic of Ghana have that sector in his heart, and for that matter a lot of Government interventions have been introduce such as “Planting for Export and Rural Development, Planning for Foods and Jobs and Rearing for Food and Jobs etc. and what the Assembly have also been able to do for farmers in the Municipality.

Developmental Projects, construction of No. 6-unit classroom blocks with officers and stores, Toilets with elevated water tanks, Constriction of 1 No. unit kindergarten school block, Contraction of pavement and drainage works and Reshaping of existing road, and Delay on projects etc were all discussed and deliberated on.

In conclusion of the MCE address, the executive Committee was brought to the house for extensive recommendation, deliberation, voted and adopted by members of the house.
