NJNMA inspects palm farms

As mandated by the L.I 2232 of the National Development Planning Regulations, 2016, all MMDAs are required to conduct quarterly Monitoring and Evaluation of all projects in the Municipality, the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly visited seven farms establish with previously donated oil palm seedlings at Jumapo.

The monitoring team was led by the New Juaben North Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Madam Comfort Asante and other officers from the Assembly such as Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Ndinga Nborinyi ,Municipal planning officer, Mrs. Florence Nartey, Municipal Finance Officer ,Mr. Alhasan Muntala, Works Engineer, Mr. Anim Borti, Municipal Budget Analysts , Mr. Joseph Attah Baah,Municipal director for Social development, Mrs. Mahama Sally, Education directorate was represented by Mr. Boateng Okyere , Municipal Agric. officer, Emmanuel Amenu, Municipal Physical Planning Officer, George Ayensu, and NADMO Director, Mr. Helbert Danso.

During the visits to the seven beneficiary farms established under the initiative “planting for export and rural development program” in 2019 and 2020, it was observed that the palms seedlings are sprouting well, with some of them already producing their fruits and ready for harvest.

The Farmers were praised by the Municipal Chief Executive for their diligent efforts in turning the government’s vision into a reality, ultimately benefiting the entire country. She therefore assured the farmers that the Assembly would try to make more seedlings readily available to farmers.

The farmers thanked the Municipal Chief Executive, the Assembly and the government for the support.
