NJNMA restore palm oil plant at Asikasu

The New Juaben North Municipal Assembly has handed over a repaired palm oil processor to the residents of Asikasu.

The machine which was initially donated by an NGO, broke down four years ago.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) madam Comfort Asante, in her speech, was very glad to see the machine fixed and ready to work again and reassured the residents that the Assembly would continue to provide assistance to promote the economic welfare of the community.

She made it clear that the cost incurred in the fixing of the plant was thirteen thousand Ghana cedis (13,000).

She therefore pleaded with the newly inaugurated management team to take good care of the plant to ensure its lifespan is extended for their own benefit.

The municipal Agric. Officer Emmanuel Amenu on his part emphasized that the plant will go a long way to improve oil palm production in the community and boost local economic activities.

He pledged his outfit's commitment in ensuring farmers are well resourced to produce more palm oil for both local and international markets.

Mr. Benjamin Larbo, the Assembly Member for Asikasu on behalf of the residents, expressed their profound gratitude to MCE and the Assembly.

He therefore promised that maintenance of the plant will be his paramount.

Present were the municipal finance officer, Mr. Muntala Alhassan, Municipal Planning Officer, Madam Florence Nartey, Deputy Director, Madam Victoria Ghartey, Municipal Budget Officer, Mr. Joseph Atta Baah, and Municipal Social Welfare and Community Development Officer Madam Sally Mahama, Municipal audit office, Madam Gifty Mahama and Tech Engineer officer, Mr. Emmanuel Larbi.
