GNPC Foundation supports Bibiani Health College and three others

As part of Ghana National Petroleum Corporation's (GNPC) Foundation's core objectives towards providing educational infrastructures, the foundation has undertaken a sod-cutting ceremony at four (4) separate schools within the Bibiani-Ahnwiaso-Bekwai Municipality in the Western Region.

The ceremony signaled the beginning of the construction of 3-story building with lecture halls and offices for Bibiani Health College at Kwamekrom a suburb of Bibiani, construction of ultra-modern science laboratory for Bibiani Senior High School and also construction of 6-unit classroom block for both Sefwi Bekwai and Queens Senior High at Sefwi Anhwiaso respectively.

The sites plan for the projects were handed over to the various contractors and has (18) months to complete the 3-story building project, the other three projects are also expected to complete within the period of two (2) months.

The Manager for Sustainability of GNPC Foundation, Mr. Patrick Ofori said, the project was based upon the official request made by Bibiani Municipal Assembly to support them in the area of education which was also in-line with the GNPC Foundation's core objectives.

According to him, the Foundation will continue to accomplish it core mandate as and when parliament approves their budget.

On his part, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Hon. Alfred Amoah who led the delegation from GNPC to the various project sites thanked the GNPC team for honouring their request made by the Bibiani Municipal Assembly for this tremendous performance to uplift the face of Bibiani. He then, pledged to ensure regular maintenance of the facilities to preserve it for future use.

In attendance were, the delegation from GNPC, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, the Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD), Head teachers of the various schools and staff, Traditional Authorities from Sefwi Anhwiaso traditional area and a host of other dignitaries.
