Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso appeals for University in Bibiani

The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, has appealed to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to establish a University in Bibiani Municipality should he become the next President.

He made this passionate appeal at his private residence in Bibiani, when Dr. Bawumia and his campaign team paid a courtesy call on him as part of his three days tour of the Western North Region.

The Paramount Chief, who doubles as the President of the National House of Chiefs Praised Akufo-Addo/Bawumia administration for the monumental projects brought to Bibiani Municipality within the last seven years in office.

Ogyeahoho mentioned Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) at Awaso, University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) satellite campus in Bibiani and Bibiani College of Health and Allied Sciences satellite campus at Sefwi Anhwiaso in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality provide a conducive environment for teaching and learning.

He indicated that Bibiani Municipality has now become a mining hub following the operations of four mining companies within the Area.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, cited the Asante Gold Bibiani Limited at Bibiani, Chirano Gold Mines Limited at Chirano, Ghana Bauxite Cooperation at Awaso and Kwaantwi Mines Limited at Sefwi Manse, as the four large scale mining companies operating in the region hence deserve a University to train more youth.

He expressed appreciation to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for engaging in decent campaign, and requested him to complete the Bibiani town roads before December 7.

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia said NPP government has performed exceptional and deserve another term to continue with the good works.

Dr. Bawumia urged Ghanaians to avoid the former President John he described as second hand President and retain the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government in power to continue the good policies and development projects ongoing in the various Regions.

He further explained that the current state of development and strategic policies in the country, voting for any other party during the election would truncate those initiatives which are transforming the nation.

He mentioned the introduction of Free Senior High School policy, one constituency, one ambulance, restoration of teacher trainees and nurses allowance, creation of six new regions, Ghana Card, agenda 111, Cocoa Pollination, construction of artificial pitch, district road improvement programme (DRIP) as some of the promises made to Ghanaians and they had delivered.

He announced that the next NPP government under his leadership will introduce Credit Score System, Loans for Women Empowerment, Free Tertiary Education for Persons with Disabilities (PWD's).

He also assured Ghanaians for 50% reduction in light bill and additional 2000 megawatt of solar energy to compliment the current power.

Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency pleaded with traditional leaders, clergy, particularly the electorates to desist from skirt and blouse preaching by their main opponent and vote him as a Member of Parliament (MP) for area and Dr. Bawumia as the next President to develop Ghana.
