Ga Central MCE promised deplorable roads will be fixed

The Municipal Chief Executive of the Ga Central Municipality in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Emmanuel Lamptey has assured residents in the Municipality that, the deplorable roads in the area will be fixed soon.

Speaking at the 35 national farmer’s day celebration on Friday, Mr. Lamptey said the Ga Central Municipal Assembly has a poor road network with most of the roads not motorable.

“The Central government through the effort of the Member of Parliament for Anyaa – Sowutuom, Mrs. Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey has awarded about 55km road rehabilitation contracts covering the entire Municipality”, he stated.

He added that, while work has started on some of the roads, others are yet to commence. Contractors selected to execute the jobs are mobilizing to site and very soon, the municipality will witness a facelift befitting its status as a municipality.

The contractor who is carrying out the 23km asphaltic overcast has started its work, the MCE said.

She assured the chiefs and opinion leaders, the youth groups, as well as drivers in and around Ga Central Municipality that the roads would be repaired, and called for restraints.
