AMANSIE W Info: 104 disabilities persons receives common fund.

The Amansie West District Assembly has presented an amount of GHs37,460.00 to one hundred and four persons (104) with disabilities at separate durbars at Manso Adubia and Manso Antoakrom.

The classification of the beneficiaries are for trading, education support, acquisition of assistive, for agricultural farming ventures, medical support, apprenticeship and financial social support.

Speaking at the functions, the District Chief Executive for Amansie West Mr. Alex Kwame Bonsu said the fund is from the district Assembly common fund allocated for persons with disabilities. He said this is the second trench for the 2016 as there was earlier distribution in February this year for 84 persons.

He said it is the policy of the government to support peoples with disabilities to unable them live decent lives.

He said plans are far advanced for the Assembly and the Rural Enterprise Department and BAC to organise a training workshop to train them in batik tie dye, soap making, gari processing among others for their daily lives.

The district Social welfare officer Mr. Osei Kuffour on his part asked them to use the money wisely for the purpose they apply for it.

The district chairman of the Association of peoples with disabilities Mr. Kingsford Many thanked the government and the district Assembly for the kind gesture and assured the assembly that they will use the money wisely.

Present at the function include Mr. Akuaku Kwarteng, Presiding Member and Alhaji J. M Hardi.
