Amansie West marks Gender Day
The Amansie West District had celebrated Gender day at Manso Nkwanta with the theme “Empowering women and Girls through education”.

The meeting was attended by Queen Mothers,school children, chiefs, Assembly members staff of District Assembly and women from Manso Nkwanta.
Speaking at the function the District chief executive for Amansie west Mr William Bediako Asante said the district Assembly has started Gild-, Child education programme which would soon launched in the district to raised funds to sponsor Girl Child to further their education to the highest level.
He appealed to Chiefs, and Queen mother's to educate the people the need to send their Girl Child to school.
Mr Bediako Asante appealed to all good citizens of Amansie west to come home and contribute to this laudable education programme.in the district.
The Guest Speaker Nanaan Hayford an Actress, thanked the Amansie west District Assembly for this laudable programme, and appealed to Girl-Child to study hard to enable them become useful citizens.
She appealed to parents to send their Girl-,Child to school, and provide them with their basic needs to enable them attend to school.
Hanna Hayford appealed to the students to have in mind what they have to do in future and their role model they have in mind.
The Member of Parliament for Manso Adubia constituency Mr Yaw Frimpong Addo on his part thanked the district Assembly for this programme and appealed to parents to invest on their Girl child education to enable them become a useful citizens of the country.
He appealed to the Amansie west district Assembly to enact bye laws to deal with parents who fails to send their children to school.
The Queen Mother of Manso Nkwanta Traditional area who chaired the function appealed to Queen mothers to educate their Girl-child and to provide them with their basic needs to enable them always attends to school and also reduce high rate of Teenage pregnancy in the district.
An 8- member steering committee were introduced to the public they are Mr Charles Quannor, Mr Cheshyn Nutrugah community Officer, Gloria Bentil ( Asanko Mines),Mr Benjamin KariKari Dwira( HR) Mrs Monica Odei Kyei GES,,Mr Ali Sulimana (District Planning Officer, Mid Deborah Onyame Gender District Officer, and Mrs Christabella Dickson
