Good news for schools within the Ga West municipality, since very soon they would be operating without blackboards which is said to be hazardous and dangerous to the health of the teachers and school children.

Good news for schools within the Ga West municipality, since very soon they would be operating without blackboards which is said to be hazardous and dangerous to the health of the teachers and school children.

The schools will however be operating with formica boards and provided with markers making the work of the teachers easier and healthier.

It will also serve as a means of motivating them to put up their best in imparting knowledge into school children within the Ga West Municipality.

Municipal Chief Executive, Mr. Sam Atukwei Quaye who made the above assurance when he inspected developmental projects within the municipality while commissioning others promised the transition from blackboard to formica board project would commence soon and be completed before the end of the year.

He said the Assembly in collaboration with GETFUND, government and development partners will continue to champion educational projects to make education an enjoyable experience.

Some of the projects he commissioned include; 6-unit classroom block with office and store for the Amasaman M/A primary school, 2-storey 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Nii Otoo Kwame III M/A primary school at Pokuase and 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities for the Amamorley Methodist Basic School.

The MCE and his entourage also inspected drainage works at Fise, Pokuase(storm drains), Amasaman stadium road (storm drains), and the Amasaman Senior High School road.

He revealed that the drain projects are part of strategic efforts by the Assembly to arrest the problems of flooding within the municipality anytime it rains.
