The Bongo district is appealing to government to absorb the three community senior high schools established by the people themselves into the main educational stream in order to provide the needed assistance for the growth of the schools.
The schools namely, Azea-Namoo, Bongo-Soe, and Bongo-Beo are currently faced with a number of challenges ranging from lack of teachers, inadequate logistics to inadequate infrastructure.
District Chief Executive, Alexis Ayamdor who revealed this to ghanadistricts.com said the good intension of the people to help contribute to the development of the education sector and helping as many qualified graduates from the basic schools to have secondary education would be defeated if no intervention comes soonest.
He said even the teachers in the schools are volunteers who are just committed to contributing their quota to the society.
According to him, the projects fall in line with government resolve to establish 200 new community SHS so all there is for government to add more infrastructure and provide teachers and logistics to make the schools more productive to the communities.
In a related development, the assembly has earmarked GHs36,000.00 to enable it sponsor qualified people from the district to teacher training and nursing training colleges to help beef-up personnel in schools and health facilities in the district.
