Three communities in the Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region would have every reason to be happy this festive season following the fulfillment of a major promise to them.
Nanthia, an emerging community near Nkawkaw, Apesika and Atibie Amanfro have all been connected to the national electricity grid under the rural electrification grid.
The extension work carried out by the Ministry of energy is in line with government effort to connected deprived communities to the national grid to create opportunity for increased economic activities in those areas.
Commissioning the projects, the Municipal Chief Executive, Alex Somuah Obeng reiterated government commitment to extending electricity to all deprived areas across the country adding that the track records of the NDC government in this regard is unmatched.
He reminded the people not to use the light for social purposes only but get more into economic ventures to help their living conditions. He is also confident the provision of electricity would improve security in beneficiary communities especially at night, and promote businesses at night.
The MCE urged all communities who hope for this opportunity to be patient with government as it takes steps to address all those challenges.
