Beneficiaries under the National Health Insurance Scheme in the Kwabre East District will soon be issues biometric cards as part of reform measures to improve accessibility.

This was disclosed by the District Scheme Manager, Mr.  Mohammed Kamal at a workshop organized for National Health Insurance scheme service providers in the Kwabre East District.

The biometric card according to him would help to reduce the hardships customers have to go through when they first register unto the scheme, as well as deal with undue delays at the service centers.

The Claims Manager, Mr. Eric Asiedu said the Authority will from next year charge a new list for drugs as part of the annual review system of the scheme. He said reviewing the prices of the drugs will bring about conformity in treatment guidelines and the economic conditions.

He commended the service providers for their contribution to the scheme for the past ten years it has been in operation and also to alert them on the various changes they are to expect in the scheme for the next year.
