The Kassena Nankana West district may experience a leap in the results of its Basic Education Certificate Exams(BECE) in subsequent years, as the new DCE for the area, George Nonterah is bracing up to overhaul the educational system to improve the academic laurels of school children.

With just some few weeks after his appointment as the new DCE for the area, Mr. George Nonterah says he has taken time to study the BECE results pattern for the district, and hoped to commit attention to improve on it.

Speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, he said he was not enthused with the performance of the students over the years, but was quick to add that he will be unrelenting to put measures on-board to improve the fallen standard of education in the district.

He hinted that education formed part of his topmost priorities with regards to the development of the area, and will yearn to implement measures that could help mark up the grades of students.

According to him, there was the need to focus more attention to spur the Education Directorate to work harder, and also provide them the enabling environment for them to shore up their monitoring and supervisory role across-board.

He said education was the backbone of sustainable development in every society, adding that without education there cannot be any meaningful development, therefore he will consider fair attention to the educational sector, through the provision of more infrastructure and equitable investment  that will give a facelift to education in the area.
