Mr. Pascal Dery has been nominated into a District Chief Executive (DCE) position in the Lawra District Assembly in a recent list of appointments released by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD).

The nomination was done by President Mahama in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Section 20(1) of the Local Government Act 1993, Act 462.

All things being equal, Mr Dery will succeed Hon. Abu Samson, the Member of Parliament for Lawra constituency who was the DCE for the past four years in the Mills-Mahama administration.

However, Mr. Dery needs to pass a two thirds majority confirmation from members of the assembly to entrench his position as the DCE for the assembly in the Mahama-led NDC administration.

For now there are no indications on when voting would be held to approve his nominations in the assembly, nevertheless Ghanadistricts.com assures its readers that it will keep them posted as events unfold in respect to the Chief Executive position at Lawra.
