Residents of Kumasaal in the Lawra district are pleading for the establishment of a kindergarten in the area so it could salvage the stress of children trekking long distances to school daily.

It is reported that because there are currently no basic school in Kumasaal some of the kids have out rightly abandoned school as a result of the relative distance involved in attending school in the nearby communities.

The Assemblyman for the Kunyuokuo electoral area, Sebastian Sorinye interacting with Ghanadistricts.com on the issue said the lives of the kids are to a large extent endangered as these children walk along busy streets to the nearby school. At the moment the only nearby primary school in the area is the kunyuokuo Zongo primary.

According to him, the plans of getting a kindergarten in the community will create an avenue for more guardians and parents to send their wards to school so children of the area would not be disadvantaged in accessing quality education.

Meanwhile in order to boost primary healthcare delivery in the Lawra district two communities have been offered a new Community Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) centre in the area.

Beneficiary areas are Kunyuokuo and Metoh-boh all suburbs of the district.
