The Assemblyman for Ko electoral area, in the Lawra district, Sienekpine Sylvinus has advised landlords and opinion leaders in the area to put efforts in place towards acquiring a site for the construction of a market place.

He intimated that he is making frantic efforts to ensure that before he step out of office the area could get a well enhanced market centre which could help open up economic activities in the area.

Highlighting this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Assemblyman suggested that it would be better in the meantime to get a land ready for such project since no specific site has been identified in case there is an immediate intervention from either government or benevolent societies on that project.

“We only have a Sunday market with no intense activity, but for Tuopare they have a reliable market centre which attracts sellers and buyers from even Nandom and surrounding places to the area”, he noted.

According to him, obtaining an enhanced market centre will give leverage for sustainable economic activities so that subsequently it will improve revenue mobilization in the Ko electoral area.
