The Member of Parliament for Daboya/Mankarigu constituency, Baani Abudu Nelson says he believes the commitment of the government not to slant recommendations in the GYEEDA report, but deal with the matter in the interest of the state.

“I have the conviction that President Mahama will uphold fairness and be resolute in the bid to implement the recommendations in the GYEEDA report, besides he would not taint the image of his government by shielding any corrupt practices in government” he stated.

Government have had to endure some pressure from Civil Society Organisations(CSO’s), partisan groups and sections of the general public in recent times, as it is alleged government was dragging its feet towards the implementation of the findings in the report, however Hon. Abudu Nelson in his submission  backed the President calling for a review of the report before acting on it. He made this known in an interview with Jonathan Jeffrey Adjei.

He intimated the intricate report required to be treated with circumspection to enable government set out the truth in the whole matter, adding that the remnants of any injustices in it will only hunt the government later.

In view of this, he urged Ghanaians to exercise restraint as the President exhausts the right processes involved in ascertaining any wrongdoing in the alleged malfeasance at the Ghana Youth Employment and Entrepreneurial Development Agency (GYEEDA).

He thus hailed the President for assuring publicly to correct any wrongdoing in the public service in the wake of the infamous GYEEDA saga to ensure transparency and accountability in governance.

According to him, President Mahama was a full baked leader with a lot of experiences, therefore noted that he had the competence to channel the economic resources of the country into efficient use to consolidate the economy.
