A seventeen and a half kilometer cocoa road project has commenced in the Kadjebi District in the Volta Region.
The road goes through major cocoa producing areas in the district starting from Dodi Cement through Asuboi, Aboabo to Kponkpa.
Currently, contractors are seriously constructing culverts as well as other water passages to give way for actual work to commence. The nature of the road will involve expanding as well as tarring the entire stretch of seventeen and a half kilometers.
Poor road infrastructure remains major concern to many communities in the country especially in agriculture producing areas mostly because of its impact on carting farm produce to market centres for sale.
This is so because for most people having a good harvest means nothing until the farmer is able to get good prices for his produce that will help him maximize profit at the end of the season.
It is therefore welcome news for residents in these areas that the road is being improved because it will positively impact on their socio-economic live.
