Christians urged to hold their faith

The Metropolitan Anglican Archbishop of Kumasi Dioceses and province of Africa Most Rev Prof Daniel Yinkah Sarfo has called on Christians to hold their Anglican faith and offer gifts to the sick, the poor and the needy so as to win more souls for Christ.

Most Daniel Yinkah Sarfo said this at Manso Suntreso in the Amansie west District of the Ashanti Region when he inaugurated the new church parish for the Saint Mark's Anglican Church Manso Suntreso.and the dedication of 3 bed rooms, big hall, kitchen and toilets facilities mission house.

 

The three stations under the Suntreso parish are the Saint Andrews church at Manso Krofrom, Saint Luke church St Manso Nkaasu and Holy Trinity church at Manso Abore.

 


 
He commended the church members of manso Suntreso for putting up church building and the mission house. He asked them to intensify their evangelization drive in the area to get more church members.The Archbishop Yinkah Sarfo asked them to go into income generating projects to enable them get more funds to develop their church.

 

He asked parents to invest on their children's education to enable them become a useful citizens.
The District chief executive for Amansie west Mr William Bediako Asante on his part commended the Anglican church for its developmental project like schools, hospitals and construction of church buildings among others.

 

 

speaking with ghanadistricts.com, he said the district Assembly would soon launched and educational endowment fund to sponsor girl child education to enable them pursue their education to the highest level Given the short history of the church the catechist Thomas Omono Asamoah said the church was established in the year ,1927/1928 by the following persons opanin Gyato and family, opanin john Buadu,Matthew Addai and family, peter Kyei and family, mad Grace Owusu and family, madam Martha Akua pokua pomah and family, Dardom, kwabena bio and others.

 

He said in 1984 a great revival arose from the scripture union of Ghana and this helped the church much to involve all members who brought catechist Thomas Omono Asamoah to be trained and stationed permanently as Kumasi Diocesan catechist of the church.

 

He said Saint mark Anglican church has been the mouth piece of the community especially when the local shrine used the chiefs authority to manipulate Christians in the town. The parish priest for the Saint Augustine's Anglican priest Rev Fr Moses Mensah.
