West Akim Assembly Supports UCMAS Pilot Schools with Fans

The West Akim Municipal Assembly has presented ceiling fans to selected schools participating in the Universal Concept of Mental Arithmetic System (UCMAS) initiative, currently being implemented on a pilot basis in the Municipality.

The presentation, undertaken by the Municipal Education Oversight Committee, forms part of efforts by the Assembly to support the participating schools and create a more conducive learning environment for pupils as the pilot programme progresses.

Speaking on the initiative, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Akim, Hon. Paulina Akabila, said the Assembly was committed to ensuring the success of the programme and indicated that plans were underway to eventually extend the initiative to cover all public schools across the Municipality.

She noted that providing the necessary support to schools was essential to improving teaching and learning outcomes and promoting the overall well-being of pupils.

Hon. Akabila reaffirmed the Assembly’s commitment to supporting educational initiatives that would enhance the quality of education and create better learning conditions for children in the Municipality.

She said the Assembly would continue to collaborate with relevant stakeholders to introduce and sustain interventions aimed at improving education and equipping pupils with the skills needed for their future development.
