The donation took place on Thursday on the sidelines of the Second Ordinary Meeting of the Third Session of the Eighth Assembly. It included wheelbarrows, brooms, shovels and pickaxes.

Presenting the items, the Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani, Hon. Vincent Antwi Agyei, commended the Zonal Council for the initiative. He urged the assembly members to use the items effectively and maintain them properly for the benefit of residents.

The MCE also called on residents to support the assembly’s sanitation drive by keeping their surroundings clean and taking part in communal labour.

Secretary of the Zonal Council, Mrs. Irene Ampomah Kusi, said the gesture formed part of the council’s commitment to support sanitation activities in the various electoral areas to improve environmental hygiene and revenue generation.

She said the tools would enable the beneficiary assembly members to organize regular clean-up exercises and address sanitation challenges in their communities.

“The purpose of this donation is to support our assembly members in keeping our communities clean. Sanitation is a shared responsibility, and we believe these tools will go a long way to help,” she said.

The assembly members who received the items expressed appreciation to the Zonal Council and pledged to put the tools to good use.
