Ga South Municipal Assembly Supports PWDs

The Ga South Municipal Assembly through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) has presented business start-up working tools and equipment as well as money to fifty-nine Person with Disability (PWDs) in the municipality.

The support valued at One Hundred and Eighteen Thousand Ghana Cedis, Fifty pesewas (GH?118,000.50) is geared towards their socio economic empowerment.

Money presented were meant for payment of school fees.

The items presented included twenty deep freezers, one fridge, one thousand five hundred pineapple suckers, six bags of fertilizers, one desktop computer, a colour printer, two sheep, two knitting machines, two sewing machines, two shoemaking materials, one cocoa mix machine, hair dressing equipment, pedicure and manicure equipment, barbering items, assorted provision items among others.



The Municipal Chief Executive of the Assembly, Joseph Nyarni Stephen during the presentation said, it is his fervent hope that the working tools and equipment presented would be judiciously used for the right purpose so that beneficiaries would become financially independent, look after their households, contribute their quota to the socio-economic development of their communities and consequently become fully integrated into mainstream development.



He then assured the beneficiaries that the 3% of the Common Fund apportioned to address the various needs of PWDs, notably; awareness creation, health, education, establishing them into businesses of their choice and their integration into mainstream.
