Ga South Municipal Assembly Presents Items To Persons With Disability

The Ga South Municipal Assembly, in efforts to promote the development of persons with disabilities through the interventions of the 3% common fund presented business startup working tools and equipment to people with disabilities on 27th October, 2020 at the Assembly premises.

The total amount spent on working tools and equipment for 34 PWDs was ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and thirty five Ghana Cedis seventy five pesewas (GH? 99, 935.75) and the total amount of spent on 11 PWDs towards school fees was twenty thousand five hundred and seventy six Ghana Cedis (GH¢ 20, 576.00).

The items presented to the Thirty-Four (34) PWDs were Four (4) irrigation machines, three (3) fufu pounding machines, a corn mill machine, assorted phone accessories, a baking oven, Fifty (50) pieces of ball chain, a mobile cassava mill machine, a multipurpose powder making grinding machine, One Hundred and Thirty (130) crates of egg, assorted soft drinks, bottled water, Seventeen (17) deep freezers, Five (5) boxes of footwear, seven (7) bags of maize, three (3) bags of cassava dough, assorted sewing materials and zoom engine.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude to the Government, the Municipal Chief Executive and the entire Assembly for the kind gesture and promised to handle the items with care.

The ceremony was graced by the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Nyarni Stephen, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Mr. Emmanuel Baisie and the Disability Fund Management Committee members.
