They said the Police and other authorities have also been alerted about the activities of one Solomon Mintah Ackaah, former Head of Akwanor Family for engaging lands guards to harass lands owners and developers in the area.
Major John Addy (Rtd), a member of the Akwanor Royal Family made the observation at a press conference to address some pertinent issues confronting the community such as land guards and chieftaincy matters.
He said the press conference was also to announce that Mr. Solomon Mintah Ackaah, have been removed as the Head of the Akwanor Family by the principal elders and members for his gross disrespect to the elders.
He said the family on September 2, 2021 passed a resolution to remove Mr. Ackaah as Head of the Akwanor Royal Family and replaced him by installing Ismaila Nii Armah Quansah as the Head of the Akwanor Royal Family that hails from Simpa-Winneba.
He explained that Mr Ackaah refused to honour an invitation by the elders to discuss the burial and funeral rites of the late Nii Akwanor III, who died seven years ago and not yet buried as well as the Asafoanye Naa Odey Odoi who died two years and still remains in the morgue.
“As custom demands, it is the responsibility of the Head of Family to perform the funeral rites of the said deceased persons and the customs and rituals of the Akwanor Royal Family such as Bentum Yaw festival and Homowo festival etc. which he refused to participate in” he added.
Major Addy also urged developers who have purchased lands at Ashalaja to deal directly with the new Head of the Akwanor Royal Family, Nii Armah Quansah.
He assured developers and prospective land owners of their safety in the community since the area enjoys peace and calmness, saying developers are free to develop their properties without any hindrance.
He asked people who have bought lands under former Head of Family to make their documents available to the new Head of the Akwanor family for verification and to address others matters.
