Ga South Assembly commissions ultra-modern office complex

The Ga South Municipal Assembly, one of the newly created Municipality in the Greater Accra Region has commissioned a two (2) storey ultra-modern office complex dubbed ‘City Hall’ situated at the Galilea Market off the Accra - Cape Coast road.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Joseph Nyarni Stephen indicated that the One Million Four Hundred and Eighty-Two Thousand, Six Hundred and Seventy Ghana Cedis, Twenty Four pesewas (GHC 1,482,670.24) project which was funded with seventy percent of the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of the Assemble and thirty percent of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) comes with twenty six offices for the stuff, thirteen washrooms for stuff, four washrooms for the general public, a one-hundred and twenty sitting capacity conference room for Assembly meetings, sixty car parking lot and a security post.

He lauded the staff and the Assembly members for their support and reminded them that it is the tax payer’s money that has given them the comfort so they must equally be concerned about their needs and not disappoint or fail them when they come to the Municipal Assembly for services.

Mr. Nyarni also disclosed that, the Assembly is currently putting up a four bedroom Municipal Chief Executive’s residence and three bed room Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) residential facility which is also funded from the IGF and therefore appealed to the citizenry to pay their rate to the Assembly as expected.

The Deputy Local Government Minister Mr. Boateng Agyei, commended the Assembly for their remarkable achievement within a short period and assured the assembly of the ministry's support. "Ga South is one of the best Municipalities in Ghana and I call on all Other MMDAs to emulate them", he said.

The Regional Minister, Ishmael Ashitey, also congratulated the Municipal Chief Executive and the municipality at large for a good work done and also acknowledged the efforts of the Assembly for its effective revenue mobilization mechanism and proper utilization of the IGF to enhance development.
