SHAMA elects new Presiding Member

The Shama District Assembly has elected Hon. Percy Ahenakwah the Assembly Member for the Komfueku/Ituma Electoral Area as the Presiding Member (PM).

He succeeds Hon. Samuel K. Borlu whose term of office expired.

The election which was contested by 2 Members; Hon. Percy Ahenakwah and Hon. Francis Biney (Member for Lower Inchaban) saw a one touch victory for Hon. Ahenakwah with 18 votes against the 7 votes obtained by Hon. Biney.

The Electoral Commission declared Hon. Ahenakwah as the winner and was subsequently sworn into office by the District Magistrate.

Present at the meeting were the District Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Amoah, Officials of the Electoral Commission, the District Magistrate, the District Police commander, Hon. Members and Technocrats as well as the Media and a section of the General Public.
