SHAMA: Phase one of new Assembly block nearing completion

As part of efforts to help create a conducive environment and enhance administrative work, the Shama District Assembly in the Western Region is putting up a new office complex at Shama, the District Capital.

The project, which is being funded by the Government of Ghana through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, is currently at the phase one level with phase-two expected to continue soon.

The new facility has spacious office spaces for the District Chief Executive (DCE), Municipal Coordinating Director (DCD), District Finance Officer, Agric Department, Budget Office, Planning Office and Human Resource Office.


The rest include Marriage registration Office, Accounts department among others.

The project which began some six months ago is expected to be completed within 24 months.

Revealing this in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, DCE of the area, Ebenezer Dadzie was convinced that the project will motivate staff of the assembly to work extra harder for the Assembly to gain a municipal status.


The MCE, who was satisfied about the fast pace of work, was also confident that the contractors will work assiduously to meet the deadline.

He said his outfit was also providing the contractor with the requisite support to enable him execute the project and finish on time.
