I will personally deliver the school bus - President promises PRESTEC

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Danquah Akuffo Adddo ha assured the Divisional Chief of Himan and students of Prestea Secondary School (PRESTEC) that he will personally present a school bus to the school.

He said this during his visit to the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality. This was after the chief of Himan divisional area has requested a school bus from the president to the school.

The president in his speech said new reforms such as a new curriculum is coming for pupils in kindergarten to primary six. He added that for Ghana to become industrialized there is the need to invest in Science Technology Engineering and Mathematic. That was the main reason why a new university act was being processed to be considered by parliament.

On roads, the Minister of Roads and Highways Mr. Amoako Atta promised that they will give Prestea a first class road from Bogoso to Prestea which will last not less than thirty years. He said they were importing fifty new steel bridges from Czech Republic and one of these bridges will be allocated to the people of Prestea.

On Mining the Minister of Lands and Natural Mr. Asoma Kyereme also promised that all the necessary documentation for Sankofa Mines is at Mineral Commission and that he promised that when it gets to the ministry he will everything is done fast to help the citizenry get work to do. He urged the youth to actively take part in community mining as 5400acres of land has been acquired for that purpose. He added that 1600 jobs will be created out of the community mining in Prestea.

In his address, the divisional Chief of Himan Nana Nteboah Prah IV applauded the president for his numerous flagship programmes.

He however pleaded with the president to intervene in reviving of the Sankofa Gold Mine. Again, nana Nteboah Prah entreated the president to work on the poor road network in Prestea especially Bogoso to Prestea road. He also pleaded for dormitories and a school bus for PRESTEC.

He finally pleaded for a new bridge over a river that links Himan to Prestea.
