He said this when he held an emergency meeting with the Municipal Education Directorates and Boakrom Community members.
The meeting was held to set a new date for the re-opening of Boakrom basic school which was closed down barely one month ago after a group of youth attacked a teacher in the school.
He advised the youth to use the appropriate channels to address their grievances when a teacher or someone goes wrong. He recounted a similar assault case on a teacher at Prestea Goldfields School by some gangs in Prestea.
The MCE reiterated that he will not hesitate to direct the police to arrest and jail those perpetrators.
To serve as a deterrent to others, Dr. Isaac Dasmani asked the chiefs and elders, PTA chairman, and Unit committee members to come to the Assembly to sign bonds on behalf of the community.
The Municipal education director Mrs. Mary Vida Kwofie was propelled to take action against the community for unnecessarily assaulting a male teacher who was at post.
Mrs. Mary Vida Kwofie explained to the community how their actions have to disadvantage these innocent children who will write the same examination with their colleagues in other towns and cities. Those contact hours lost cannot be accounted for.
Nana Akyirem, the Gyasehene of Boakrom was overwhelmed and thanked the MCE for intervening on behalf of the Community for their children to go back to school. He again expresses the same gratitude to the education directorate for not closing the school entirely.
