MCE Hands ver Dual desks to the Municipal Education Directorate for onward Distribution

Hon. Isaac Dasmani PhD, The Municipal Chief Executive on Monday, 12th June, 2023 handed over 200 dual desks to the Municipal Education Directorate for onward distribution to the schools within the Prestea Huni-Valley Municipality.

The Municipal Chief Executive noted that making education a reality in the Municipality and across the country required a collective effort from all stakeholders. It requires more financial resources, measures to ensure that these resources are used efficiently to deliver the best returns and reforms that support students to learn and gain the skills they need to become productive and successful adults.

Again, the assembly would continue to create the necessary environment to support schools within the district and called on traditional leaders, residents, citizens of Prestea Huni-Valley, and corporate bodies to support the assembly’s effort to transform education within the municipality. He ensured that they should expect another set of the desks in the coming days.

Hon. Dasmani advised School Management Committees to handle the furniture with care and maintain them to help reduce the financial pressure on the Assembly.

Mr. Sebastine Atrama Diaw, the Municipal Director of Education commended the MCE and the assembly for the kind gesture and said though we need more for our schools but receiving this one shows that, more are on the pipeline and we are looking forward to seeing it happen. “I hereby pledged that the Municipal education directorate would ensure fair distribution to at least six (6) schools in the Municipality that have furniture deficit and ensure strict maintenance culture be applied to help improve the standard of education within the Municipality”, he concluded.
