KRACHI W: Deprived communities to be connected to national grid

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Krachi West in the Volta region, Mr Douglas Osei Nti has stated that some communities in the district have been earmarked to be connected to the national grid.

The DCE, who disclosed this at the Assembly’s First Ordinary General Assembly Meeting, further revealed that the Ministry of Energy has undertaken a feasibility studies on the sub-island communities for the provision of electricity with connectivity to the national grid.

According to him, Aglakope community was currently enjoying solar electricity supply, adding that all "the solar power generating in the community would therefore relocated to other deprived areas when the national grid is extended to the community."

He noted that the first and second phase of the studies has yielded positive results and therefore, it is my hope that in the near future, the sub-island would be connected to the national grid.
