New Juaben South to disinfect all markets, public places on Saturday
The new Juaben South Municipal Assembly is to disinfect all markets and some selected public places on Saturday, April 4 and Sunday, April 5, 2020.

The exercise is in compliance with the President's directives on measures to contain and prevent the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country.
To this end, the Public Health Emergency Response Management Team (PHERM) of the Assembly in response to the directives by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development is entreating all business operators within the municipality, which is the Central, Juaben Serwaa, Agartha, Zongo and Adweso Markets.
A release from the Assembly also directs other business operators within the streets, lorry stations and other areas within the Central Business Areas to safeguard their items on Friday, April 3, 2020, to pave way for the exercise.
The statement also notes that "On these days (i.e. Saturday and Sunday's management of the Assembly do not expect any shop owners or markets stalls to open their shops or enter the market or sell anything as the fumigation team discharges their duties.
After the fumigation exercise, the Assembly and the Environmental Health Team will on Sunday continue to clean the area".
As such, all traders, ship-owners within these 5 market centres are expected to return to the market on Monday, April 6, 2020.
