Offinso North MP Sets Up COVID-19 Fund

The Member of Parliament for Offinso North, Augustine Collins Ntim who also doubled as a Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development has presented a GHC10, 000.00 cash as seed money to set up a COVID-19 fund for the constituency.

He also announced to offer half of his three-month salary into the fund starting from May this year.

According to the MP it has become necessary to intervene in order to help to fight the pandemic.

At a short ceremony to the money, he also announced that he has procured several PPEs including veronica buckets, sanitizers, gloves, nose masks, tissues, towels, liquid soap, dust bins, washing basins, 15 infrared thermometers, and a motorbike to the health directorate for onward distribution to the various facilities in the constituency.



He, therefore, called on the good citizens of the area to join him to fight the pandemic. He also appealed to the people to adhere to the directive of the President and the Ghana Health Service by washing their hands regularly with soap under running water, using the sanitizer always and also practice the social distancing in order not to contract the disease.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr. David Kwasi Asare, pledged to manage the funds and materials very well and supervise the health directorate to make sure the Offinso North District records no case of Coronavirus in the area.



The Offinso North District Director of Health, Mr. Richard Avagu, commended the MP for his selfless stewardship to the constituency and pledged to manage the items very well to the betterment of the people.
