OFFINSO N: 11 markets, other places disinfected

A total of 11 markets and other public places were disinfected in the Offinso North District of the Ashanti Region as part of measures by the government to improve the hygienic conditions of the markets and other public places in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic.

The exercise, which was carried out by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development (MLGRD) in collaboration with zoom lions workers, sprayed other places like Police stations, hospitals and Health centres, Fire station, court, Post offices, and senior high schools.

The Ashanti Region becomes the second to benefit from the exercise after markets within the capital city, Accra were disinfected.

The District Chief Executive for the area, Mr. David Kwasi Asare on a day to the exercise, went round with his entourage and informed the general public of the disinfection of 9 Markets and the other places in the area.

The District Assembly in collaboration with market queens and leaders closed the affected markets in the area for disinfection to enhance conditions of hygiene in order to contain and prevent the spread of the virus.

The DCE in a statement after the exercise thanked the general public for their cooperation during the exercise and called on them to adhere to the measures by the government to improve the hygienic conditions in their soundings.
