Offinso North District intensifies education on Coronavirus

The District Coordinating Director (DCD) for Offinso North, Madam Victoria Akyaa Adomako has urged residents in the district to clean their environment wash their hands with soap, clean running water and cover their mouth when sneezing amongst others.

This, she said would prevent them from getting contact with the coronavirus and emphasized that Ghana has so far not recorded any outbreak as it is being recorded by other countries such as China, Nigeria, Senegal, Egypt and amongst others.

Madam Adomako was addressing market women at Akumadan, Nkenkaasu and Darso markets. Respectively.

Madam Adomako said an outbreak of the coronavirus in the aforementioned countries has killed many people and informed residents to be vigilant as there is an adage that ‘’prevention is better than cure’’ to ensure Ghana records zero outbreak.

She said the district has been tasked by the President to play frontline roles in the Covid-19 national education campaign adding that the general public is supposed to play a critical part in the information dissemination drive.

The Public Health Nurse at the Directorate, Mrs. Mariam Salifu appealed to the people to cultivate the habit of washing their hands with soap under running water at the point of entry into the premises through Veronica buckets and also provide hand sanitizers for children and the entire family.
