MCE hands over site for construction of Neonatal Intensive Care Centre

The Municipal Chief Executive of Lawra Municipal Assembly, Mr. Martin Bomba-ire has in a very brief ceremony handed over site in the Municipal Hospital for the construction of a neonatal intensive care centre in the area.

The facility, when completed would help in taking care of children who are born prematurely or born with complications.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, Mr. Bomba-ire expressed joy that he was finally on the grounds of the Municipal hospital to hand over site for the construction of the care centre because, it has always been a dream for him and the MP to get this centre constructed for the hospital.

He added that, the funding for the project is from the One Million dollar (1m) per constituency and the project is expected to be completed in 3 months from day of commencement of work by the Contractor.

The Medical Director of the hospital Dr Ziem Bernard who was at the ceremony thanked the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament, Anthony N-yoh Abayifaa Karbo and all who worked hard to make this project finally given the green light and site handed over today to commence the construction of the centre.

The centre is to have offices, a place isolated for the Babies, a changing room facility for both mothers and staffs, a Water closet toilet facility, a store room among others.

The Municipal Chief Executive was in the company of the Municipal Coordinating Director Mr Majeed and other staff from the Assembly.
