He however, assured that the assembly’s readiness to support communities that engaged in self-help projects to enjoy the needed social amenities.

The DCE, who was speaking at the Assembly’s first ordinary meeting held at Donkokrom, the District capital said, “you would agree with me that it is not possible for government to provide infrastructure for every community across the country, and thus communities are often encouraged to initiate projects and programmes that are of priority to them.

“Such communities invariably receive support in the form of materials or cash from the Assembly to have the projects completed” he stated.

He commended some communities for initiating self-help projects such as the construction of an ultra modern library facility at Abotanso, Clinic at Anidzi (70% complete) and a health centre at Kwaekese. He noted that the Assembly has already supported the Abotanso library project with 100 bags of cement adding that steps were also being taken to assist with the completion of other community initiated projects.

He concluded by urging Assembly Members to mobilise their people to initiate projects and programmes that are of importance to them and the district as a whole.
