The Tano North Municipal Assembly has successfully cleared and cleaned the refuse site as part of efforts to improve environmental sanitation, protect public health and restore cleanliness within the municipality.

The intervention follows concerns raised by residents over the accumulated waste, with the Assembly responding through its waste management team to address the situation.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) expressed appreciation to the Assembly's waste management team and all individuals who contributed to the successful evacuation exercise.

He, however, appealed to residents to take collective responsibility for maintaining a clean environment and desist from dumping refuse at unauthorised locations.

Residents were also encouraged to use approved refuse containers and pay their waste management levies promptly to support effective sanitation services.

The Assembly reaffirmed its commitment to addressing sanitation challenges and ensuring that communities across Tano North enjoy a cleaner and healthier environment.

With the Akyease refuse heap finally cleared, the Assembly is urging residents to sustain the achievement and prevent the site from becoming an illegal dumping ground again.
