Ahafo Regional Minister visits Tano North Municipality

The Ahafo Regional Minister, Mr. George Boakye, has paid two days working visits to Tano North Municipality.

The minister, as part of the visit also met with the chief of Duayaw Nkwanta, Nana Boakye Tromo III, where the discussed issues of mutual interest and of benefit to the chief and the people of the area.

Nana Boakye Tromo lauded President Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo through the regional minister of the numerous developmental projects as a result of creation of the Ahafo region.

The Minister accompanied by Municipal Chief Executive of Tano North, Mr. Ernest Kwarteng, also presented 2,000 Mono desks to the Tano North Municipal Education Directorate.

The Regional Minister and his entourage later paid a courtesy call on Terchire Traditional Council and Adrobaa Traditional Council respectively.
On-going government projects and roads such as Terchire town roads, Terchire-Adrobaa road and Adrobaa town roads were inspected.


Owing to the urgent need to have some major roads in the Tano North Municipality fixed, Regional Minister and the Municipal Chief Executive invited the contractor working on the Terchire town roads, Terchire – Adrobaa, Duayaw Nkwanta – Bomaa, Yamfo – Bomaa and Bomaa – Tepa road.

The contractor, Alexiboam, placed on record that works on the town roads and Terchire – Adrobaa stretch will see a facelift in the coming days.
With regard to the roads that link Bomaa to the adjoining communities, the contractor stated that he is waiting for some heavy duty equipment, and that work will continue very soon when the equipment arrives.

The tour was extended to Buokrukruwa where he commissioned a three unit teacher's Bungalow.


At Duayaw Nkwanta he inspected the Circuit court, Circuit court Judge Bungalow and Highways Director's Bungalow. He again commissioned the St. John of God Hospital Doctor's Bungalow to inspect the Resources Center which is under construction.

“I am more than convinced these very important roads will be constructed as Alexiboam alluded to the fact, he is under the pressure of the MP, Regional Minister, MCE and Dr. Gideon Boako who placed a phone call to him just last week concerning the roads that lead to Bomaa.”
“I humbly appeal to the good people of Terchire, Adrobaa and Bomaa to exercise restraint as those in authority work towards addressing these pertinent challenges facing us as a people.”

The working tour was accompanied by Mr. Sampson Amoako Kwarteng Chief Director,RCC, Mr. F.K Cosmos Deputy Regional Police Commander, Madam Lucy Ama AnkraRegional Director of Education, Dr. Boakye Boateng Regional Director of Health, Mr. Edmond Duodu, Regional Director of Feeder roads and many others.
