The Municipal Director for the Commission, Mr. Joseph Oduro-Buabeng tasked the hairdressers to take part during the voter registration, especially those who have now attained the age of eighteen years.
He cited Article 42 of the 1992 Constitution to buttress the point that one can only vote if the person is eighteen years and above and of sound mind and have registered with the Electoral Commission before he/she can vote in an election in Ghana.
He again encouraged them to even contest as Assembly Women and Unit Committee members to seek development for their electoral areas.
Again, the Municipal Director reminded them that the National Identification Authority has started registration for persons who don't have Ghana Card as well as replacement and corrections for persons with issues on their Ghana Card.
The education was carried out to help increase the voter turnout during the district level election and also encourage those without Ghana Card to go and register to get the card so they can use it for their voter registration.
The education was carried out on 4th September 2023 at Yamfo Community center organized by the Tano North Municipal directorate of Complementary Education Unit.
