He asserts that the completion of the reconstruction of the Praso Bridge over River Pra that had been of major concern to the people due to its deplorable nature attests to the government’s commitment to ensuring improvement in the road infrastructure in the area.

The Praso Bridge has been reconstructed into a two-way concrete bridge with pedestrian walkway, an improvement from the initial one-way steel bridge.

He explained that one of the reasons the bridge has still not been commissioned yet is because in the larger scheme of things, government would want to ensure completion of works on some roads that had already been awarded on contract and were under construction but had to be halted for some due to the economic challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The good news however is that most of the contractors are mobilising to return to site to continue and complete the roads, with one already on site working.

Some of these roads include: Opokukrom, Aboabo, Dunkwa Offin, Anyinase, Ateiku, Twifo Mampong. At Mokwaa to Aywisim, the contractors are already back to site and working.

The District Chief Executive thus called on the citizens to remain calm and keep faith with the government as it works to complete these roads hopefully before the year ends.
