Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Assembly holds meeting

The Twifo Atti-Morkwa District Assembly (TAMDA) held its 1st Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the 9th Assembly Wednesday on 29th July, 2020 at the District Assembly Hall.

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Robert Agyemang-Nyantakyi in his sessional address said that the Assembly developed its Medium-Term Development Plan for the period 2018-2021 and it was from this document that the Assembly prepared its Annual Action Plan for implementation in 2020.

He also added that the goal for the plan period is to ‘reduce poverty through stimulation, socio-economic growth, enhancing human and natural resources development, increasing private sector participation and partnership and promoting good governance without any form of discrimination in a sustainable manner’

He further enumerated some achievements of his office within the time frame among which include; providing 100 bags of certified rice seeds to 214 farmers, awarding a contract for the construction of a New Modernize Market at Twifo Praso, Organizing training for 50 artisans in beads and soap making, distributing 50, 000 palm seedlings to 258 farmers, supplying 31, 150 bags of subsidized fertilizers to farmers, distributed over 800 liters and grams of NPK to farmers to help control pest in crops.

the rest are commissioning a modernize 1No. CHPS facility at Mbaabasa and 1No. 3-unit classroom block with Ancillary Facilities at Akwakrom and Nuamakrom and many more developmental projects.

He finally commended the entire staff of the District Assembly for passing the 2018 District Performance Assessment Tool (DPAT) and also stimulated them to keep putting their best foot forward.

On their part, the Presiding Member, Hon. Edward Baiden Aggrey urged the Assembly Members to propagate the developmental projects undertaken in the District to their electorates. He also urged the members to lead exemplary lives for the electorates to emulate, through their service to them.
