Regional Minister Visits Jirapa Municipal Assembly.

Update the staff about the progress of government policies, programs and projects in the Region.
Appealed to staff to remain committed to their duties and increased their efforts as implementers of government policies, programs, projects, and this year covid-19 recovery plan.
The Jirapa Municipal Assembly today, 4th February, 2022 were privileged to receive the Hon. Regional Minister, Members of the Regional Security Council, and other Senior Staffs from the Regional Coordinating Council.
The Municipal Chief Executive of Jirapa, Hon. Lawyer Nicholas Soyiri in his welcome remarks, expressed his profound gratitude to the Regional Minister and his team for the visit. He acknowledged and thanked the Minister for his role of unflinching support on his nomination and confirmation as Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa.
He pledged to ensure the growth of the Municipality and also for government policies and programs to be well implemented, but not to disappoint the President and the Minister who have entrusted and honored him with the responsibility of leading the good people of Jirapa Municipality.
He updated the Regional Minister about developmental challenges and some achievements in the areas of Agriculture, Health, Education, Roads, Electricity, Water, Security, Youth Employment, inadequate Staffs, and other sectors were equally touched on.
The Hon Minister in his address, explained the purpose of his tour and promised to continue to be in close touch with the assemblies to supervise and monitor, this he noted is the lawful responsibility of the Regional Coordinating Council. he noted, the visit is the maiden after the confirmation of Hon. Nicholas Soyiri as the Municipal Chief Executive, and calls on all staff to give the MCE the needed support as the President representative.
The Hon. The Minister indicated that, Upper West Region is the most peaceful in Ghana and entreated everyone to help maintain the status quo for more developments.
He used the opportunity to outline some policies and programs the Region has gained under the leadership of Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo as President of the Republic of Ghana.
Completion, commissioning and operationalization of the Upper West Regional Hospital.
Thirty-eight thousand (38,000) students on Free Senior High Education program.
Three hundred and fourteen thousand (314,000) farmers registered under Planting for food and jobs, hence the region is credited as the leading producer of maize.
1.5 million seedlings of cashew were nursed and distributed to farmers under Planting for export and rural development.
The Region benefited from fertilizer subsidies and rearing for food and jobs programs.
Seven(7) projects under one district, one warehouse, as four(4) have been completed.
One hundred and eight (108) educational infrastructure projects completed, while one hundred and sixteen (116) are ongoing.
All Municipal and District Directors of Education were given brand new pick-ups for their official work.
85 motorbikes given to Circuit supervisors to aid them in their work.
Regional Director of Education given a brand new Toyota land cruiser Prado to assist him supervise and monitor educational activities in the Region.
Thirteen (13) ambulances received and distributed to all eleven (11) Municipals and Districts.
Thirty-nine (39) infrastructure projects under health, twenty-eight (28) completed, eleven (11) ongoing.
