According to these residents, not only is the ongoing project posing health risk to their very existence but also alarmed that their community was completely snubbed from the construction project.

They are therefore calling on the government to expedite work on the road as well as include their community in a new contract agreement in order to calm the rising tension among residents.

A resident of Tuggo-Kan, Isaka Darkpul, who spoke in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, lauded the intervention but appealed to the government to as a matter of urgency renegotiate the contract to include their community in the project.

He also seized the opportunity to appeal to the Assembly, through the Municipal Chief Executive to intervene in the renegotiation process.

In other developments, Mr. Darkpul also appealed to the Assembly to complete an ongoing electrification project which started in 2019 but has since been abandoned.

According to him, the community, with a population of about 2,000 people, has no electricity, a situation that has negatively affected businesses and also increased the unemployment rate in the area.

He adds that the lack of electricity is again affecting security as most residents especially the youth take undue advantage of the dark to engage in all forms of negative acts like robbery, rape and even murder.

He therefore urged the government to complete the project to help eradicate the menace.
