Asante Akim S: MCE, MP sponsor free classes for students

Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akim South, Lawyer Asante-Boateng Kwaku together with Municipal Chief Executive, Mr Alexander Frimpong has jointly sponsored a four-week vacation classes for second cycle students in the area.

The classes, which are being organized at Juaso, Bompata and Ofoase Senior High Schools (SHSs), would cover all core subjects including Integrated Science, Mathematics, English and Social Studies.

The MCE, who visited the schools to acquaint himself with the ongoing vacation classes also ceased the opportunity to distribute free exercise books to students and teachers to help enhance teaching and learning throughout the period.

He advised students to remain disciplined and study hard so they can pass their West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) with excellence.

He mentioned that, the most crucial exam in the life of students in Ghana is the WASSCE; therefore students must eschew all bad practices and behaviors that may have negative impact on their education.

However, Lawyer Asante Boateng, in a separate visit, also advised the students to show gratitude to the President, H.E. Nana Akufo-Addo for implementing the Free SHS policy which is meant to make secondary education in Ghana absolutely free.

He thus urged them to reciprocate the President’s kind gesture by studying hard to become useful in the society.

The MP further pledged to continue the programme in subsequent years to help children concentrate on their studies whiles on vacation.
