The Assembly built a 6-unit classroom block for the Abakobon community, while a modern kindergarten (KG) block built by the Central government through the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETfund) for Juaso M/A 1 Primary School were handed over.
The inaugural ceremonies were jointly performed by the Asante Akim Municipal Assembly Chief Executive, Mr Alexander Frimpong, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr. Appiah Kubi, to hand over the classroom blocks to the communities.
In the separate remarks at the two events, Mr Frimpong noted that the condition of the old classroom block at the schools were bad and posed danger to the pupils.
He said the assembly used its share of common fund for the construction of the new classroom block to save the lives of the children.
He called on members of both communities to own the projects and at all times ensure that they were regularly maintained for them to last longer, stressing that “it is your responsibility to mobilise local resources to maintain the projects”.
The chiefs and people were so excited and thanked the Assembly especially the MCE, President of Ghana, Nana Akuffo Addo for these projects.
