NABCO holds first anniversary in Savelugu

The Savelugu Municipal Secretariat of the Nation Builders Corps, NABCO holds its maiden anniversary.

The program held at the Municipal Assembly conference centre in Savelugu, the District capital offers a platform for stocktaking and to appreciate the journey so far.

The occasion brought together a number of implementing partners who were offered the opportunity to make a few statements in the name of optional speeches during which testimonies regarding productivity or otherwise were shared.

The Member of Parliament for the Savelugu Constituency, Mohamed Abdul-Samed Gunu who was the guest of honor at the ceremony reiterated government's resolve to improve the program from its current humble beginnings.



He also admonished the beneficiaries to put up their very best so as to justify the need for sustainability of the initiative.

Mr Ziblim Abdul-Rahaman Baba, the Savelugu Municipal Coordinator for NABCO in his address noted that of the staff capacity of 721, about 100 plus as per the record of the very last payment have experienced payment irregularities of their monthly stipends. Lamenting the irregularities arising out of wrong data provided during registration; staff without E-zwich at the point of registration; and staff with other engagements with other public sector organisation according to him account for the situation.

He expressed regret for the situation and therefore assured the affected persons, management's effort at addressing the challenge.

The Coordinator recounted challenges of logistics and befitting office accommodation facing the secretariat. He used the occasion to appeal to the Government for more development.



The Municipal Chief Executive for the area, Hajia Ayisheitu Seidu in a statement made on her behalf implored the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the policy intervention.

The paramount chief for the Yoo Traditional Area, His Royal Highness Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani was as well represented by one of the palace elders who later took his turn to share a word or two bordering on the non-negotiable need for discipline at workplaces and among the youth of today to come to their aid.
