Assembly holds orientation program for members

A 2-day capacity building training program for newly constituted District Assembly members in the conduct of the business of the local assembly has been held.

Participants were drawn from 2 sister assemblies of savelugu and Nanton, both in the Northern Region.

Speaking on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive for the Savelugu Municipal Assembly, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu, Municipal Coordinating Director (MCD) Mr Ivan Z Gam, noted, that the training program is a national exercise designed and scheduled to equip members of the newly constituted assemblies country-wide.

The programme also seeks to impact knowledge of systems and procedures necessary for the conduct of the business of the assembly.

He therefore admonished assembly members, especially, the new ones to take the training serious and be active participants throughout the training period.
