NJSMA handed over sites to contractors

New Juaben South Municipal Assembly on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, handed over the site to Two contractors namely; KINGDWOSCO Enterprise and K.B.A Engineers with their consult (SOMAN CONSULT) to redevelop Phase two of Koforidua Jackson Park, to reconstruct Galloway to St. Dominic road and the Apostolic and Pentoawala road respectively.

The contract is worth over fourteen million Ghana cedis (GH?14,371,515.93).

These projects were under the Ghana Secondary Cities Support Projects (GSCSP) -Urban Development Goal (UDG-3) through the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization and Rural Development and funded by the World Bank.

The Project Manager for SOMAN CONSULT, Ing. Mrs. May Obiri-Yeboah outlined the roles for the main stakeholders being; SOMAN CONSULT, the Contractors, and the Client (NJSMA).

She advised them to perform their duties especially, the contractors to present their project outlined to facilitate other stakeholders to work efficiently and effectively on the project so as to meet the standard of work as demanded by the community.

Madam Iris Dalaba, the Municipal Planning Officer who doubled as the project coordinator told the Consult to always involve the Assembly in decisions of the project, not only the contractors. She also advised the contractors to provide attendance books and other logistics such as; helmets, gloves, etc anytime they are on site.

“The Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Appaw-Gyasi made it known how important Koforidua Jackson Park is close to the heart of the citizens of New Juaben South, he continued by saying the people of Koforidua should trust him and the Assembly to smoothly execute phase two of the project”.

Again, he charged the contractors to repair the drains along the roads.

He assured that, under his watch, phase two of the park would be completed on time in order to serve its function as planned.
MCE then advised the contractors to cooperate with each other by avoiding the occurrence of any discontent in the future.
